International protection (EU, US + Global)

Under the Madrid Protocol, since October 2004 you can file one application to cover over 100 signatory countries, including the UK, EU and the US. This gives you global trade mark protection.

This one application is more expensive, but such protection should be considered if you are planning to reach a global market with your product or service, or if you want to operate a global website.
